Our Pastor

Pastor Greg Wilt was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 14, 1970 and grew up in the suburb of Kentwood. His father and mother were members of Good News Baptist Church and served there faithfully for many years. He was consistently taught the Scriptures at home and regularly attended all the services and functions that the church had to offer. At the age of nine years old, he understood his broken spiritual state and subsequent need of a Saviour and believed on Christ. Based on his profession of faith, he was baptized a short time later. Growing up, he was faithfully involved in the various ministries of the church including AWANA clubs, Bible quiz team, and the youth group. Outside of church he played baseball, golf, soccer, and football. However, his greatest passions proved to be hunting, fishing, and camping.

After graduating from East Kentwood High School, he worked for a short time then left Michigan to pursue a degree in graphic arts at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. It was there that he would meet his future wife, Beth Ann Abdo. He went home that summer to Tennessee where his father and mother had moved, got a job, and began to attend Columbia State Community College. During a period of unemployment, he decided to join the United States Navy and volunteered for Submarine service. While between duty stations, he married his college sweetheart, Beth Ann. She came from a solid, Christian family in Ohio that faithfully attended church and served the Lord. After the wedding, they moved to Virginia for a short time but ultimately ended up in San Diego, California where he would wrap up six years of Navy service with an Honorable Discharge. It was during his time in San Diego that he surrendered to the ministry, attended Bible College, earned a Bachelor’s Degree, and faithfully served the Lord at Fair Havens Baptist Church. Since March of 1993 he has served in just about every aspect of ministry imaginable from the West Coast to the East Coast as well as internationally. He has been a youth pastor, an assistant pastor, and a pastor.
